In February 2007, Pastor Tim and Michelle MacDonald, and children Danica and Craig, moved to Calgary AB, after a 3 year ACOP mission to Trinidad/Tobago. Continuing with the ACOP organization, Tim assumed the supervisory position of a new AYMI initiative to train, encourage, support and connect youth leaders across Canada.
The AYMI Mission
Here is what we feel God is leading us into as a vision for the nation of Canada:
1. Provide and facilitate youth workers training seminars across Canada. I am working with a team of youth workers on organizing seminar weekends in every region of Canada starting in the fall. This will be a Friday night and all day Saturday event. Youth workers will receive teaching, training, encouragement, hope, care, value, free resources, great food, and resources to purchase. This is the site we are beginning to build and develop to be a connecting point for youth leaders across Canada and the planet.
2. Be a resource ministry to youth leaders. Building relationships with youth workers is fundamental to our vision. Also, we are beginning to build a web site for youth leaders to receive resources, connection and ideas. In addition, we want to provide Canadian based information to youth leaders about issues facing this generation of youth.
3. Connect youth leaders and youth pastors to churches that have a heart to invest in the lives of teens and desire to enter into mentoring relationships and internship type programs. This will give young leaders ministry experience which we hope will lead to full time youth ministry positions within the local church setting.
4. Develop a training center for young leaders to be equipped and mentored in an internship type program partnering with the local church.
