Online Bible Study Tools & Resources

No longer is it necessary to lug a stack of Biblical reference volumes to the desk in order to study the Bible. Websites offer all the best reference books on their sites, cross-referenced, at the click of a button. Below is a directory of the easiest and most convenient study sites which will prove invaluable in studying God's Word.

The Crosswalk site offers the Bible in many different versions. You can search for phrases or specific verses. There are also many Bible reference books to give background info on specific passages, practices or historical explanations on Jewish traditions, etc.

Blue Letter Bible is a fabulous online Bible study site. Based in the KJV, it gives many other versions plus lots of commentaries that help understand the scriptures. Very valuable resource! Once you've found your passage, click on the L button to see a list of available commentaries.

Bible Gateway has many versions of the Bible, but also has the Bible in many languages... English, German, Swedish, Latin, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Tagalog, and Norwegian. They also offer many study helps and an audio Bible.

Each of these Bible study sites works a little differently. Take a few minutes to look around, figure out the process. The access to such a depth of Bible reference material is invaluable and next time you have a question, you'll know just where to find the answers.

Many at CFC are reading through the Bible in 2006 with Pastor Dave. These tools are helpful in understanding some of the history and references in the Old Testament books.
